| Before Dermal Fillers |

Before you get collagen or anything else injected in your face Collagen and any of the dermal fillers are great products when dealing with fine or deep wrinkles but there are some things you must first consider. The foundation of a youthful appearing face is to have the right skin care regimen with facials and skin products. Everything after that is an enhancement on a healthy platform. First – fine wrinkles can often be treated with chemical peels and other facial rejuvenation techniques like hydration, Microdermabrasion and light therapy. The active muscle wrinkles – like your forehead, between the eyes and some others are caused by the skin rolling over muscles themselves. Botox cosmetic is best suited for this and works by temporarily reducing the muscle activity in those places where the injections were made
The nasolabial fold and deep wrinkles of the face and chin area result from the stretch of the skin that occurs as we age. This happens because over time we lose collagen in our tissues and the structure of skin simple loosens and stretches.
For the best results on your face, best to tighten up the skin first and then touch it up with the dermal filler. This tightening is done through radiofrequency treatments and the system that I believe works the best is the accent.
Each accent treatment helps to tighten the underlying skin architecture and build collagen resulting in a more youthful appearance!!
Once you have established all that you can do to reduce the irregularities – you then touch everything up with the dermal fillers. Typically since you already have done the groundwork first you will need less fillers and they may last longer as well.
Of the fillers, I personally prefer hyaluronic acid since this is a normal occurring element in your body – particularly the skin.
There are different types of fillers depending on the size of the molecules and the chemical constitution. Best to ask your doctor which one is most suited for you.
